Review: Inglorious Basterds (2009)
Despite Lt. Aldo Raine’s (and perhaps by extension Quentin Tarantino’s) closing words, “I think this just might be my masterpiece”, post-modern Inglorious Basterds is a far cry from Tarantino’s sophomore effort, Pulp Fiction. While narratively it comes close to replicating the same quality of secondary story strands leading up to a final denouement, Basterds suffers from uneven character development, plotting and style.
