DVD Releases for the Week of Oct. 28, 2008

This week is something like the 14 Hour Technicolor Dream concert held in London in 1967. Starting at 8pm and finishing somewhere near dawn, the live concert included numerous artists such as Yoko Ono, John Lennon and heading up the whole thing: Pink Floyd. In what has been described as an acid-induced night of psychedelic music ingestion, it has gone down as one of rock history’s greatest concerts and is the subject of a new documentary directed by Stephen Gammond entitled A Technicolor Dream. Likewise, this week’s DVDs are an odd and eclectic mix of films, covering the gamut from a deranged pseudo-documentary to a 60s sex symbol biopic to a CG-animated Tinker Bell film.
